Fall will be FairSquare Comics’ World debut (and you’re all going to love it)

We’ve talked about this for months. It’s finally coming, this Fall, FairSquare Comics’ worldwide distribution through Diamond Comics finally kicks in. So get ready as we’re about to unleash “Comics for the rest of us”…

Being labeled a small independent publisher doesn’t really reflect our state of mind. Yes, we’re a small team. Yes, we’re that “moms and pops” immigrant and minority owned type of business run by a very diverse family. But we don’t see ourselves as small by any means. We have that kind of big energy. We want to show that we can have as great a lineup as the big guns. Premium quality content and design. Superior production values.

Does size matter? Not when it comes to quality. And our first batch of books reflects that state of mind.

First up, In September, is NOIR IS THE NEW BLACK. If you’ve followed FairSquare Comics in the past 12 months, you already know all about this book. 16 Noir stories from creators. Yet, this edition is different. And it’s the definitive edition of that volume that has been such a blessing, not just for us as a publisher, but first and foremost, for our 40 Black creators who delivered the best possible content.

NOIR IS THE NEW BLACK comes back to Comic Book Stores worldwide (via the Direct Market) on September 15th, 2021. Ask your favorite store to order copies with the code JUL211635.
It will be available everywhere else, including independent bookstores, Barnes & Nobles and Amazon (in United States and Canada only though), from September 28th, 2021 on.
If you’re an independent book store and want to order, please contact DBD with this code: STL196157. Pre-orders are welcome right now!

Look for signings with talents happening in stores in your area. We’re currently working on bringing our talents to a place near you!

A month later, in October, INTERTWINED comes back to stores. It’s also an important book. It’s FairSquare Comics’ flagship series! The main character from INTERTWINED, The Spirit of The Earth, is our “poster boy”!
If you read any of the previous editions of INTERTWINED, this one’s different.
For starters, Fred Pham Chuong delivered a brand new cover (see below), colored by the amazing Paris Alleyne.
It also contains 25 extra pages of behind the scene material as well as 15 updated pages from the original edition. This is why we labeled this book, the ULTIMATE EDITION.

INTERTWINED ULTIMATE EDITION will be available in the Direct Market on October 20th, 2021 and November 2nd everywhere else. Comic shops can order with this code: AUG211760. If you don’t know a comic store near you, please use the Comic Shop Locator.
Pre-orders are also possible at bookstores and chains: independents, Barnes & Nobles and Amazon.

Finally, we’ll close the year with a #1.
The first issue of our anticipated magazine: MUTINY.

Available only in comic book stores (and our webstore), this 100 page volume will be a direct successor of our smash Kickstarter issue #0 hit from Spring ’21. It will come with four covers and we’re happy to reveal here one of those. It’s a cover drawn by the great GENE HA (who did TOP 10 with Alan Moore as well as his creator owned series MAE) and colored by Seb Lamirand. You’re definitely not ready for this issue! Interviews, features and 50 pages of original comic stories will definitely leave you wanting for more. It’s the magazine you didn’t know you wanted but will be so happy to enjoy.

COVER B from MUTINY#1

MUTINY MAGAZINE#1 will be available from November 3rd, 2021 everywhere comics are sold.

That’s the end?
No. Clearly. More the beginning.

We’re already planning an amazing 2022 with more MUTINY, more INTERTWINED, more NOIR IS THE NEW BLACK as well as some new stories that will definitely make you smile, laugh, cry and more from immigrant, minority and all kinds of under-represented categories of creators. See you soon!
