After the #publishingpaidme hashtag on Twitter and the ArtistsvsWriters article online, there’s a lot of talk in our industry. Here’s my 2 cents on the matter. And I could talk about it for hours.
Who benefits from divisions between artists and writers? YES to highlighting and respecting and paying decently artists. I’ve been an artist advocate all my life. But why stirring the pot when we need to unite to impose better practices in our industry?
Why stating the obvious instead of be the change?
I made a video about that. And I’m NOT accusing or pointing finger at anyone, especially not Stephanie Cooke who wrote that article in question on her blog. You can read it here.
But there’s a “handle with care” sticker on that situation. And it’s a bigger thing than what Stephanie highlights.
I made a video about that, gathering a few spontaneous thoughts about the subject.
I’d be happy to speak more about it, but it totally aligns with my views: make our industry fairer, better and put the #humanengine at the center of the game.
