There’s a project supported by every French comic book publisher, initiated after the events that have occurred last week in Paris. It will be called “La BD est Charlie” (Comics are Charlie). I got an email yesterday evening and was informed every artists could contribute (a jury will select the best drawings tomorrow). I wanted to contribute. I really wanted it. So I drew the piece below. Then, this morning, I changed my mind. I thought about it. Why being published in a book? I’m an experienced writer, but a “baby” as an artist. Do I belong there?
So I decided to post it on the internet, for free, for everyone, rather than have it sold in a book. I’m not saying you shouldn’t buy the book. You should if you want. It’s a great collective project. All the money will go to Charlie Hebdo. But I feel I don’t belong there.
I belong here. On the internet. In everyday life. With everybody else. So, here’s my piece.
Share it. Like it. Despise it. Whatever. I loved drawing that with the late cartoonists I loved in mind.
It has the American comics flavor I like. It’s a bit irreverent.
Enjoy.

Left Guy: “Look, it comes from Gotham City, it’s a BAT-SIGNAL. It’ll terrorize the terrorists!”.
Right Guy : “Got better! A COCK-SIGNAL. Charlie’s new weapon to fight BS minded terrorists”.
